An hour or so later, the Enterprise crew members arrived via shuttle. Anya and her family were waiting to greet the crew. Once each member got off of the shuttles, Anya greeted each of them and introduced them to her parents and to her little brothers.
The first one to get off was, of course, Kirk. When Kirk went to be introduced to Anya's father, he found that Nikolay had a stern look on his face. An expression that seemed to say, "I hope jou'we treated my daughter vell, because eef jou didn't, I svear zhat I vill put jou een a pod and eject jou to zhe sun." Kirk shuddered a bit before being introduced to Ekaterina, who had an expression th
Not long after her father had made the announcement that both crews would be celebrating on the starbase, Anya decided to go to a cafe for some time alone. She bought a cup of vanilla latte and a small old-fashioned doughnut before sitting down at a corner table and taking out her journal and pen.

My father, mother and brothers have met me in my state as an officer!
Papa, ever-supporting as always, gave me a hug and congratulated me. When he contacted the Kepler, he told his first officer about my being an officer--but c
"PAPA!!!!" Mikhail and Kirill shouted in unison before running towards their father.
"Come here, jou two," Nikolay said, ruffling the twins' hair and scooping them up in a big bear hug. "Jou're getting heawy, jou know zhat?" Mikhail and Kirill laughed in response as Nikolay put them down.
After greeting his sons, Nikolay went over towards Ekaterina and kissed her fondly on the lips.
"Velcome home, Niki," Ekaterina said, embracing her husband.
"Zhank jou, my gem," Nikolay responded, returning his wife's embrace before kissing her cheeks.
Suddenly, a thought crossed Ekaterina's mind.
"Nikolay, vhere's Anya?"
"She's right here," Nikolay a
The beams of light that had appeared only a few seconds ago materialized into a young woman--well, maybe a female APPROACHING full womanhood, at least to Nikolay's excellent eye for detail.
The teenager standing before him was clad in the standard outfit for female science officers, emblem and all. By the way she stood, Nikolay could tell that the adolescent had a confident (but still somewhat shy) attitude about herself. Dangling from her earlobes were a pair of earrings that had five-pointed, star-shaped charms. To top it off, her brown, shoulder-length hair was tied back in a way that allowed her entire face to be seen--the most distincti

Nikolay sat in a chair near his desk going through photographs on his PADD. Many of the photos were of him with his family. Included in this digital album were pictures of each individual family member.
Currently, Nikolay was looking through the digital folder that contained pictures of Anya shortly after her completion of high school at age eleven. In these pictures, Anya was wearing gray baggy clothes and had her bangs in front of her eyes. Her hands were in her pockets and she stared awkwardly at the camera.
Nikolay sighed. After Anya had completed high school, she had holed herself up in
Some time later, Anya opened her eyes again. Once again, the overhead light above her caused her to squint. But what was different this time was that Anya had regained more strength. However, she still did not know where she was.
"Vhere...vhere am I?"
Not long after she said this, Anya heard footsteps approaching from her right side. She felt something gentle placed on her shoulders and saw a face hovering over her.
"Anya," the face said.
Once her eyes adjusted to the light, Anya recognized the person hovering over her.
"Pavel," Anya said.
Suddenly, memories of what had happened flooded Anya's mind. She bolted upright.
"Zhe Klingons! Z
"Ready tae beam over, sir."
"Great work, Scotty. Keep beaming them over until every ship has them in their cargo holds."
"Ye've got et, Cap'n."
Seconds later, beams of light swirled around piles of tribbles that had been placed onto the transporter platforms; not long after that, the tribbles disappeared altogether.
This action was part of the idea that Anya had come up with the second that the crew was getting ready to fight the armada with phaser guns blazing. The plan was for as many tribbles as possible to be beamed into all of the Klingon ships (the exception being Sasha, who was placed in a cage in the medical bay), with the remaini
When Anya arrived in the medical bay, her eyes immediately widened.
"Oh, for zhe lowe of zhe great Pyotr..." she said, taking in the scene before her. "Just vhat ve need right now: tribbles all ower zhe ship."
Hearing Anya give the furry life forms a name, the crew members looked at her.
"You know what these furballs ARE?!?!"
Anya nodded.
"Da, Doctor McCoy."
"Tribbles..." Spock said, a classic Vulcan stare on his face as he picked one up off the floor, "...a fascinating name for these creatures."
"Ensign, what caused all of the tribbles to get onto the ship?" Kirk asked.
"Let me put eet zhis vay, Keptin Kirk: do jou know vhat happens
The second that Kirk and Spock set foot in the medical bay, they stopped dead in their tracks.
Inside the medical bay were thousands and thousands of fluffy spheres. They were on tables, chairs, beds, shelves, and thousands more surrounded Doctor McCoy, leaving him waist-deep in them. Some of the furry masses purred, their trills sounding more like a dove's soft coos rather than a cat's purr. Others squeaked as they moved around, trying to find a place in the medical bay.
"Uhhhh, Bones? What kind of experiment have you--"
"Don't pin this one on me, Jim," Doctor McCoy said bluntly. "I opened up a cabinet to get something to eat and all of t
During the next week, word had spread rapidly throughout the Enterprise that Anya and Pavel were in a relationship. Whenever Kirk passed by, however, everyone would keep quiet about the matter--though little did they know that he would find out one way or another.

"Sulu, have you noticed anything...odd about Chekov lately?"
The senior officers (with the exception of Pavel and Montgomery) were all on the bridge under Kirk's orders.
"Define 'odd,' Captain," Hikaru answered. For the past week, Hikaru had had to explain his friend's late arrivals and la
